SA:Compelling evidence of Perre involvement, NCA inquest told
South Australian Coroner WAYNE CHIVELL has been told there's compelling evidence that
DOMENIC PERRE was involved in the fatal National Crime Authority bombing.
In her closing submission, counsel assisting the coroner JOSIE ATKINS recounted evidence
which could implicate PERRE, who was once charged over the bombing, in the murder of Detective
Sergeant GEOFFREY BOWEN.
But Mr CHIVELL said he could not consider the question of murder because under his limited
power, he is unable to lay blame or find criminal or civil liability.
The inquest into the parcel bomb attack on the NCA's Adelaide office on March 2, 1994 -
which also seriously injured lawyer PETER WALLIS - began in April.
PERRE, who is now in jail for drug offences, was charged over the attack only days after it
occurred but the charges were dropped by the Director of Public Prosecutions because of a lack
of evidence.
