Qld: Bikeway serial rapist sentenced to life imprisonment
A Brisbane man who's raped and sexually assaulted women in Brisbane's bikeways over
two years has been sentenced to 25 years' jail.
32-year-old father of four LUKE JAMES COLLESS .. pleaded guilty yesterday to five counts
of rape .. six of sexual assault and two of assault occasioning bodily harm during attacks
on 11 women.
The attacks were investigated under Operation Echo Shine .. which began in August 2006
and involved almost 500 officers following up more than four and a half thousand lines
of inquiry.
In the Brisbane District Court today .. Judge MARSHALL IRWIN sentenced COLLESS to life in prison.
